Hello fellow bloggers. I know that I have not posted anything in a while but you have to give me some leeway as I no longer have a computer. Due to this fact, I have not gotten any new music in quite some time. Knowing me, I am going to need some new hotness for the summer.
I want to know what new stuff you've gotten recently. Simple as that. I am copying a couple of posts from a previous discussion to get this thing started man.

Mi gente,
I don't have any new cd's but today coming from la iglesia I saw a red CD in my cousins car. when I picked it up and read it I realized that it was Only Built for Cuban Links by Raekwon(or however they spell it; I can't look at the CD b/c it is in my deck rit now). How freakin unbeleavable is this CD!!!
I've had all kinds of other wu-tang CD's, but I never had this one for some reason. That was a huge mistake. If you don't have this CD. GO COP IT RIGHT NOW. This is one of the best CD's ever.
i love that cd. and the best part is, raekwon is coming out w a new one with aftermath label. raekwon on dre beats?
retarded.

watch this video: boots really is the shit.
Folks,
I'm in a music malaise right now. I'm having trouble with my ipod. I don't have internet at home. Nobody I've been around has played anything ill for me in a long while. I'm sick of all my cd's. I'm starving for new music and I'm not getting it.
This is starting to affect my mood and the way I treat others. The nice person that I am is heavily depends on a constant supply of new music.
My best music day of week has to be Sunday. I go to church mostly to listen to live music and to contribute my two cents by playing the tamborine. However, I need some summer heat rit now! Please help.
slimster, email me your snail address and i will try to send a care pack.
c'mon team , slim is languishing out there in tamborineland. lets do the right thing
I've been woefully inactive online. I apologize. NEW ROOTS SHIT!!! had to get that out of the way. New Gnarls Barkley came out too, for those who care about that sort of thing. Personally, I would listen to a CD of Cee Lo dropping a deuce, just to hear his voice. It gives me butterflies almost as thoroughly as the Lakers do. Ahhh, playoffs that matter again.
Also making its rounds on the net for free is a Kweli mixtape, MCEO, mixed by Mick Boogie of Justus League (little brother's crew). It has a few good songs on it.
Here's a link to a free download:

Pete Rock released NY's Finest. Skip it. I was very disappointed. The rhymes just annoyed me.
88 Keys has a mixtape also available for free download called Platinum Dreams. It's mostly instrumentals but it has some gold on it.

There's a new Outkast joint featuring Raekwon called Royal Lush. It's pretty nice. Not sure where it's from, though. Maybe a new Outkast album? The id tag says "Sir Lucious Left Foot" for the album name. I also believe that the Bay Area's finest Gift Of Gab has a new album out, but i haven't confirmed it yet. I've been lazy. He never disappoints. If you haven't listened to any Blackalicious of Gift of Gab, don't wait. It's dope.
Furthermore, ROOTS CREW!!!!! That is all.
Adam,
Yes. Yes. Y-E-S. That's what I am talking about sir! Right now I am basking in your warmth of the musical sunshine that you have shone upon me.
Tim
I've recently picked up the new Gnarls Barkley, Atmosphere (When Life Gives You Lemons...), and 9th Wonder & Buckshot (The Formula). 9th Wonder has a song called "Throwin' Shade," maybe this can be the SGLLP theme song. It's too early to assess these. Don't remember if I posted about Murs & 9th Wonder (Murray's Revenge), I love it. Tim if you send me your address I can send some of these out.
I forgot all about 9th and Buckshot's new one. Good reminder.
In case there's any wonder about where my head's at, I just volunteered to drive 2 hours to pick up a friend from the airport, basically just so I can spend some quality time with Rising Down and my favorite Nicaraguan ceegar. Nothing beats car rides to really get to know an album.
Megan,
I got that Murray's revenge and I have stopped listening to it after one play. I'ma revive that one for this weekend.
I am also getting Knarls. That album may be a topic of discussion or a survey in the next week or so.
BTW-I have become quite proficient on the tamborine and now I'm learning the bongo.
oh shit. just stumbled onto this hidden track from the international only release of Rising Down. It's too bad, cuz I'm feeling this song more than some of the songs on the album. The album has too many terrible, annoying hooks, imo. If I could buy a copy with the hooks edited out, I'd be happy. On second thought, I might just bust out goldwave and do it myself.
Here's the link to the song: The Grand Return.
"Roots Crew, mutha fuckas, it's the Grand Return"

On Intellectual Property:
If the issue about illegal downloading is the taking of proceeds from the artists, because the "record industry" is either unable or unwilling to market and sell music in a fashion that utilizes the current technological landscape, then wouldn't it appear that the "record industry" is no longer necessary? i.e. radiohead's latest album released directly over the internet. As the Co-Creator of Pirate Bay argues, when the freezer was invented, no one was complaining that the people who made a living harvesting ice, were being deprived.
Survey:
Who has the better summer banger?
Rick Ross, Biggest Boss
or
'Lil Wayne, Lollipop?
I can't pick, they are both the best. I love the weezy's beats and Ross' samplin of Beastie Boys Alli Babba is very diggable
Lookin ass... Chi style
